Musawah’s Global Conference on Muslim Family Law Reform (23-28 Nov 2020) presents an Artivism Gallery, featuring:

An interview with Yante Ismail, a feminist artist from Malaysia. Her art portrays issues broadly related to human rights, with an emphasis on women’s rights and issues around women’s empowerment. In her interview with us, she shares how art and activism often work hand in hand. She tells us of her time working on her mural, “Keep Your Laws Off My Body,” which was showcased in public in conjunction with International Women’s Day 2019 and garnered a lot of attention from passersby.
