Mobilising to #FreeOurFamilyLaws

Over 45 countries in the world (some with Muslim-majority populations and Muslim minorities) have codified or uncodified Muslim family laws that govern family relationships. Many of these laws are unfair and unjust towards women and girls. But we have been mobilising to reform these discriminatory laws, policies and practices.

The Musawah Campaign for Justice in Muslim Family Laws aims to bring together women’s rights activists, academics and policy makers in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa to create a global momentum for the urgent necessity to end discrimination against women in the family.
